Why I still like static pages for personal sites
Static pages are not exciting, which is part of why I still like them. They load quickly, back up easily, and rarely surprise me.
For personal sites, I don’t need a complicated publishing stack. I need readable pages, simple assets, and something I can restore without remembering an entire application framework.
That trade keeps feeling right: less maintenance, fewer moving parts, and much lower odds that a minor update turns into a weekend task.
